The Rise of Gender Inclusive Beauty
February 17, 2020
Now let’s get into it! The Rise of Gender Inclusive Beauty is becoming a big trend. The beauty industry is looking beyond stereo typically male and female marketing. A lot of consumers are more interested in brands practicing gender exclusivity. The beauty industry realized it was time for a change. Usually brands have been offering different products for men and women. They have been relying a lot on gendered marketing. Most of the products are designed for women, often feature shades of pastel, floral motifs, and a sexually influenced name.

But on the other hand, most products designed for male users stick to bland colors such as steel grey and blues and the product seems to require the words “For Men always”. In my opinion i think they do that to gain permission for men to be able to purchase that item in the first place and to still feel masculine. But nobody ever says there is nothing wrong with women liking their products in soft colors and men liking their products in shades of blue and vice versa. We live in a time period where lack of neutral options and restrictive binary labeling is a problem. Written By Nia Smith.

“Unity is strength, when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved”. The 7 Core Values for building a good team are Integrity, Ethics, Respect, Innovation, Drive, Self – Motivation & Dependability. Integrity means being honest and truthful in every area of life. It is the decision and the choices that you make, no matter what the opposition is in that area. Ethics are the moral principles that govern a person’s behavior or the conducting of an activity. We need to be ethical because it defines who we are individually and as a society. Respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. Respecting people is important in relating to others, Innovation which is the action or process of innovating. Teams or companies need innovation because Innovation makes it easier to grow, regardless of the size of the business. The next Core Value is Drive.. which means you will push yourself and your team until you can’t push anymore, because you are not the type to just give up or give in. Self-Motivation which is being motivated to do or achieve something because of one’s own enthusiasm or interest, without needing pressure from others. The last core value. Dependability…. Which is the quality of being trustworthy and reliable. Dependability is an important trait that every leader should embody. – Alexus Wade
